Who We Are
Northumberland Federation of Young Farmers is a rural youth organisation for people between the ages of 10 and 26 with an interest in the countryside. Despite the name, you don’t have to be a farmer to join; absolutely anyone can be a member.
Northumberland YFC is one of many County Federations throughout the UK, currently we have over 500 members spread across 11 clubs.
Each club is run by its members, so meetings suit member’s interests; these can be guest speakers, visits, activities or competitions. Recent meeting clubs have held included farm walks, go karting, football, pool/darts competition, clay pigeon shooting and team building training.
The clubs compete against each other across the year, with the biggest event being the county rally, where all clubs compete in many competitions; including stock judging, tug of war, flower arranging, singing, art and crafts to name a few.
To raise funds for the running of the county and to support local charities various events are held throughout the year, these include discos, formal balls, sports competitions and other events.
To take part in any of these activities and events you’ll need to become a member of your local club. To do so please contact Caroline in the county office and she will help you.
